Author Highlights: 2024

I did a post on the agenting highlights, but that’s not all I am (along with mother, general manager to a vineyard), I’m also an author.

This year brought highlights that may not seem positive, but at the end of the day, I think things are looking up for me as an author.

2024 Author Highlights:

  • My MS DANIELLE’S NINE DATES FROM HELL went on sub and we received amazing feedback and polite passes.
  • I broke up with my agent. This was hard, but in the end I think it was the best thing for me and my writing career.
  • I rewrote ROW WIP and I have a lot of high hopes as I enter in the querying trenches.
  • I made new amazing writing friends that I’m so grateful for.

I won’t lie, if you would have asked me in January if this is what my 2024 highlight would look like for my author career, I wouldn’t have much of this on my bingo card. But I think that’s typical for most authors. Some don’t expect to break out like they do and some (me) feel like they’re taking steps backward.

Publishing is hard.

But the key is to be persistent. Cheers to a wonderful 2025!!
